Call For Paper '07: Regulations

2nd Call for Paper Net&System Security

On the occasion of the fifth edition of the Net&System Security Convention, the @System Group with its Scientific Committee invites all those interested in participating at the event with a talk, to produce their own article, and submit it to the assessment of a commission selected among representatives who stand out in the ICT field.

Participation will be devided into 2 categories: "Professional" and "Student".
The former category includes, but is not limited to, all experts who belong to the workingforce and academic community. Whereas, the latter cateogry is dedicated exclusively to students.

All accepted articles will be published in the Official Convention Proceedings related to the V Edition. The Scientific Committee will also select, amongst all participants, those whose papers will be given the possibility to be presented during the convention.

Important Dates:
  • Call for Paper launch: July 2nd, 2007
  • Abstract Submission (Optional): September 15th, 2007
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: October 1st, 2007
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline Delayed To: October 18th, 2007
  • Acceptance Notification: November1st, 2007
  • 5th Net&System Security Convention: November 27th, 2007


Regulations:
Submitted papers should be original, and may be written in either Italian or English. Submission of the paper at the convention is free of charge, prior online registration, also free of charge, at the Convention website. Moreover, it is possible for one person to submit one or more technical papers. An abstract of a maximum of 1000 words may be submitted, but only works for which a Full Paper has been received by the deadline indicated above will be taken into consideration. Please keep in mind that the paper has to be received by the above mentioned deadlines, otherwise it will be disqualified.
  • Format Regulations:
    All presentations must be sent in digital format DOC (Microsoft Word Document) or ODT (OpenOffice Document). The Full Paper has to be edited according to the IEEE standards, using compulsorily the format styles available at the [Technical] webpage, and must not exceed 10 pages. Templates/examples on the use of the standards are available at the [Technical] page. One can also make a specific request by sending an email to the Call for Paper Representative:
  • Convention Particiaption and Talk Regulations:
    All accepted papers will published in the convention proceedings. The Scientific Committee will select those that deserve to be presented during the convention. 20 minutes will be dedicated to every presentation, including any questions made by the audience. It will be possible to use AV support. Such presentations will be distributed throughout the afternoon sessions:

    • Server Security: Virtualization Network
    • Security: OS Security
    • VoIP Security
    • Mobile Security

    Authors who will present their own work can make accomodation plans in one of our affiliated hotels. Expenses will be fully covered by the @SystemGroup. Moreover, for 5 participants in the "Student" category, reimbursements will be available to cover travel expenses only.
  • Evaluation Regulations:
    Submitted papers will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and the @System Group using the following criteria:

    • Originality and Relevance to the argument;
    • Technical quality of the paper;
    • Innovation of the technology examined;
    • Exposure clarity.

    Once the papers are evaluated, the winner of each category will receive a "Best Paper Award" recognition, to be given during the Convention. Furthermore, a prize will be given to the winner in the "Student" category. For further details, please visit the [Awards] page .
    However, ALL accepted papers will be published in the Official Convention Proceedings.
  • Notifications and Intellectual Property:
    All CfP participants will be informed, through the email address provided at registration, and by the dates indicated above, of the status of acceptance of their paper. In case of undelivered notification, it is possible to ask the CfP Representative for information by sending an email to: .
    Intellectual contents of each Paper remain of the sole property of the author, who makes a commitment to submit original papers or ones that are not subjects to any kind of bond. The author of the paper authorizes the @SystemGroup to reproduce and diffuse the paper in the modalities it finds fit to promote the Convention and the aforementioned author, who renounces any compensation or claim on it.
    In order to regulate issues, the author will see to sign and send the appropriate “Copyright Release” module to the @System Group at the moment of submitting the paper.
